Hi Guys and welcome to our blog. We will be keeping everyone updated with the training we are doing and how it is going. For me this event is a real challenge as I haven't run since I was at school and that was to long ago to remember!!! My training is going really well with the fantastic support of my trainer Matt..I still have a long way to go but my fitness has and is improving as time goes on. Mixing my training has helped as well, I do spinning, cross training, core and weights as well as long runs. I follow a training plan which Matt changes from time to time so the intensity increases. I am running 26 miles on the treadmill on Saturday to see how I feel, how quickly I recover and basically to see if I survive haha...so I will update after I have finished to let you know how I have got on...and don't forget if you want to join me and need support getting your fitness up to a level where you can run a marathon or do a few miles in a relay team contact Matt or Sam at the leisure centre and they can either do one to one training or give you a training plan. I'm off to bed as I've been training tonight so a good nights sleep is in order...night night xx

Well I have survived doing 26 miles on the treadmill today. It took me 4hours and 50mins... The last few kilometers were a killer my hamstrings were really tight and my heel was hurting but this is where my mental strength came in. All I kept thinking about was Ashton and the fact that this little lad has no say in the treatment he is having and the pain that he goes through, so if he has the courage to keep going so do I!!!! After finishing the run Matt got me to do a load of stretches that hurt like hell to start with but eased off after a little while I then came home and had a very unpleasant cold bath then a lush hot bath that I didn't want to get out of..Its now about 4 hours after finishing the run and I feel great, my legs feel a little achy but nothing like earlier but my heel is still giving me a bit of jip so lucky my husband is a podiatrist!!!! I feel so much more confident doing this event and I'm sure me and Malcolm will complete the 7 marathons!!!! Anyway I'm now going to have a great big fat dinner to replace the lost calories and an early night..speak to you all soon xxx

Michelle you must know by now how nutty and crazy we all are haha... This morning when I woke up I did wonder whether I would get out of bed a collapse on the floor cos my legs wouldn't carry me but I was pleasantly surprised that I felt ok, I still feel a little achy but not to the extent that I'm walking like I just got off a horse!! and I did ask myself if I had to run again today would I?..and I have to say yes..not sure for how long but its encouraging that I feel I could!!

Well just over a week since running 26 miles and I still feel good. I have continued my traning as usual...mixing up long runs with cross training...and so far so good. Me and Malcolm felt like film stars the other day as we had a pics taken for the January addition of the BN5.. very funny to see Malcom running side ways on the treadmill..I think he needs a bit of training on how to run on one hahaha. Malcolm from this Friday will be taking the plunge and will be training on the treadmill until our event..which is only 4 months away..OMG...so don't forget to encourage us if you see us up there...we will probabaly feel like we live there...so may bring our sleeping bags haha...please also remember that if you are training for this event and want to join us in training just let us know ....any way folks will give you an update soon ....and also Ashton has been invited to 11 Downing Street for a Christmas party bless him. xxx

Hi Guys reading what Ashton's mum has put on her FB gives me all the determination in the world to make this event a success...Ashton's bloods are really low at the moment so he can't go to school and has to stay away from public areas for risk of infection. Poor little mite at this time of the year would probabaly love to be a school playing with his mates and getting excited about christmas... They have also booked to take Ashton to lapland..but sshhhh this is a secret and Ashton doesn't know yet...but lets hope a prey that he will be fit and well enough to go..fingers crossed.. well I'v been doing a few long runs which is going ok...I seem to have a problem with my heel so having ultrasound on it at the mo and I'm icing it after I train. It seem to have settled a bit so I really hope it goes away and lets me get on with my training!!!!!!.... Looking forward to the 16th December as this is the late night shopping in Henfield and we have a table outside Barclays bank..we will be there to encourage people to join our fab event plus we will have mum's christmas baubles there and lovely braceletts that she has made. All we ask is for a donation to our event and 100% goes to our chosen charities...look forward to seeing you all there... xxx

Have had my training plan changed which starts on 19/12, but I have been starting a bit of it now....Matt has stopped a lot of my spinning..booo...I love spin so will miss it...and has replaced it with 10k runs 3 times a week one 13 mile run per week, only 1 spin a week and has also incorporated leg strengthening exercises, core work, weights and a lot more stretching...and I have been told that on my rest day (2 of them) I must REST (so if you do see me trotting round Henfield on a Tuesday or Sunday don't tell Matt haha). I'm finding the 10k runs take about an hour on the treadmill which is a good session to get my legs ready for this event. I'm still having a bit of trouble with my heel but it does seem to be getting a bit better with ultrasound and strapping. I have done a little bit of research re new trainers and have found some designed for treadmill running made by Asics, but I can't find a shop that sells them so I have contacted the company direct to see if they can send me some, so hopefully I'll get these soon and they may help with my heel. Anyway training going really well and I'm feeling great at the mo so long may that continue... Hope to see a few people on Friday for the late night shop, we will be outside BARCLAYS BANK unless we get the storm
that they predict....then you may find us in a pub somewhere haha... will update you all soon so tata for now xx

Really good news that Ashton was allowed to go to Lapland as his bloods were good enough for him to go...his mum txt me to let me know that they are safe and sound but also said that Ashton has said that he was so lucky that Father Christmas chose him to meet him...I bet Michelle and Martin had a tear in their eye...I know I did reading the txt...so I'm sure that Ashton will be full of excitment on Christmas eve after seeing Father Christmas for real!!!! Bless him...now on to training this has been going really well still and I'm starting to get used to my new trainers...they do feel really different, but I'm sure I'll get used to them as they are really comfy, I just sound like a fairy elephant on the treamill and I tend to slap my feet down in these trainers...or it could be I am a fairy elephant after all the chocs I've eaten lately..Christmas is not good for me to many tempting things around!!!..anyway with Christmas on our minds my training wont be as intense for about a week as taking a bit of time off and getting in to the christmas spirit in more ways than one...mines a large Vodka....but you will probably see me trotting around Henfield at some point or another.. Have a great Christmas everyone and enjoy all that naughty food cos when January gets here its all systems go with training and eating well..Merry Christmas and a happy New Year love Sam xxx

2nd day back into training after 2 1/2 weeks off and things went ok.
am; Spinning class
pm; 10 mile run (outside)
Running outside was a breeze compared to the treadmill !!! Treadmill running is a killer mentally, and physically you feel like you're running a lot faster when in fact you're probably slower. However i shall be back on the treadmill from now on. If you want a challenge this is definitely it. I salute you Sam, Malcolm and new recruit Tim :-).
Sam you and Malcolm looked great after the 13 mile run but Tim...well I have never seen anyone run that far with such ease and not even break a sweat!!!

Last night me and Tim done an hours run plus about an hour doing cross training,,, haven't spoken to Tim today so hope he ok after doing all that leg work....doing back to back marathons next Saturday and Sunday...so a challenging weekend, but looking forward to it...only 10 weeks to go yikeessss..that will come round quickly...will let you know how we all get on with our 2 marathons ....Sam xxx

This Thursday i will be attempting half of all my finaI distances; 1.2 mile swim, 56 mile cycle and a 13 mile run. This is going to be a real test for me as i have not a clue how i am going to take it. It could go really well or it could be a disaster, obviously im hoping not the latter! Whatever happens it is important i complete this at this stage in my training, so i can work out what my strengths and weaknesses are and adjust the training schedule accordingly. I now have 2 days rest and boy do i need it!!! I will update on Thursday evening to let you know how i got on......fingers crossed :-) xx

This week is training as normal with cross training on Tuesday. Then on Saturday and Sunday me, Malcolm and Tim will be running back to back marathons!!!! All I can say is thank god we've got Malcom to guide us, he has given me and Tim so much invaluable advice which I know we will be eternally grateful for so a massive thank you to Malc...Mind you Malcolm has been our entertainment as well on the treadmill..I think he forgets where he is and because he's not used to wearing earphones he sings away at the top of his voice entertaining everyone in the gym hahah, I nearly feel off my treadmill laughing on Sunday..bless him what a great guy he is....Anyway heres to the weekend and all of us being injury free .... will update after the weekend...will be interesting to hear what we've all got to say !!!! Well all in all a successful day. I swam 1.2 miles, cycled 56 miles and then mostly ran 13 miles. Today was a real test for me, but not an easy one. I now have some idea of where i need to go from here training wise in order to double each of the distances. And to reduce the pain factor!!! :-). I have a feeling that tomorrow i may find it slightly hard to walk and sit! The Swim went very well i completed that in 38 mins. The cycle was somewhat painful but i managed to complete that in 2 hours 26 mins and the run.....well i have never run so slow in my life, it took a lot of mental strength to get through that and i eventually did it in a shocking 2 hours 31 mins :-/. I have to say a massive thanks to Shanay Edwards for her regular trips up to see me, these really helped to pull me along and also prevent insanity. :-) Thanks also to Tim for your visit i shall be popping in over the weekend to support the three of you in your back to back marathons. And also a great big thank you to my best friend Charlotte Fataj for looking after my girls and providing me with the yummiest lamb stew afterwards :-) xxx

Henfield Leisure Centre Staff all fantastic for checking that we are ok and if we needed anything you guy's are great !! So a bit of rest now and back to the sport's centre for another gruling 26 miles on the treadmill, come on let's do this !!!

Well guys we did it!!!!! yipee..First day was really good we all were very strong all day and ended on a high..I had a bit of a groin strain but apart from that all good...day 2 was a bit different..Malcolm unfortunately didn't manage the full marathon due to really sore toes..ouch...me and Tim did really well..Tim more than me!!! my groin strain proved to be a bit challenging but I carried on and we both managed the 26 miles!!! I have to say it was pretty hard today and my body doesn't feel as fit as it did yesterday eve, but when all considered I don't think we did to bad...The cold bath is one of the worse things I have ever had to do in my life..the anticipation of how its going to feel before I slowly sit down is unbelievable and when I do sit down I stop breathing haha..but the hot bath afterwards is a great reward after the cold bath experience....I hope that Tim id feeling ok and his legs aren't to achy and stiff...I would also like to thank everyone that came in to support us..you don't know how much that helped us all.....so having done 2 marathons we are well on our way to getting ourselves really fit for the 7...well done to Tim and Malc and a massive thank you to Matt for getting my fitness up to a level where I can manage this...we've got 3 days off of training now so I think I'll be doing a lot of sleeping!!!! speak soon Sam xxx

Well we've all been a bit quiet in this blog..probably cos we're still in shock at running 52 miles!!! haha...just keeping you all up dated on my injury..its been giving me quite a bit of jip and I haven't been able to run..I tried in Saturday with Donna but only managed about 10 mins before my leg seized up again..it was very frustrating to say the least...so all week I've been cross training as this hasn't caused me any probs...but today I took action and went to see my chiropractor... which was a good move..I can't remember all the techy words but basically there was a joint in my foot that had ceased up plus part of my spine was blocked and my pelvic area was out so all in all I was wonky hence the problem..so after being cracked back in to place I do feel a lot better and I should be able to run again by Thursday so cross training again tomorrow and hopefully run about 5 mile run Thursday to see how it goes and with a bit of luck can return to long runs as the weekend..I'm seeing my chiropractor next Tuesday again but he is confident that I will be able to run the 7 marathons..phew what a relief!!!! It will also be good to train again with Tim and Malcolm as they both are better now so all back on track....Sam xx

I'd also like to let everyone know that Paul from the Manos Chiropractic Clinic Worthing/Hove will be sponsoring me by way of treatment to keep me fit for this event. Paul has over 30 years experience in chiropractic treatment and is very very experienced in this field. We will be putting his link on to our website so if anybody has any problems and would like to see a chiropractor I would highly recommend Paul.

Well what can I say!!!! me and Tim done personal training with Matt yesterday which focused on our leg strength so we did a lot of strengthening with weights on our legs...like lunges with a massive weight on our shoulders, the wave machine, squat jumps(loads of them) and lots more...So today we are SUFFERING!!!! Tim is finding it hard to get in and out of his van and I'm finding it hard to walk..we both feel like we are 90 years old..and to top it off we are having FUN hehehe....mind you I text Matt today to thank him for making me and Tim feel this way and he feels the same as he done a lot of leg work after training us...hehe.... that's made us feel better LOL.... Traning tonight will be a short run and spin and at the weekend I think we will be running about 10k saturday and 32k on Sunday...so I'm praying that my leg holds up and the injury I had has deffo repaired...We'll soon find out....Anyway I will keep you updated speak soon Sam xx

Things are going reasonably well. My leg is not great and I have been told by my chiropractor that I need to stop running for the time being and just concentrate on cross training to try and strengthen my hamstrings and glutes especially on my left hand side..I have a bad weakness there which is causing me loads of problems. But I'm staying positive and keeping my fitness up, so WILL be ready for the event in just over 4 weeks!!!!!!...I'm keeping fingers a toes crossed that I'm ok but even if my leg goes again I'm still doing it and I will complete the 7 marathons, even if its on my hands and knees haha.... so another week of cross training but I will be doing a run tomorrow for a couple of hours as I'm seeing my Chiropractor in the evening and he wants to see if my pelvic area comes out again, and if it does I'll be doing more cross training but if it doesn't I'll be able to do more running!!!! will let you know how it goes...fingers crossed xxxxx

Tim and Malc had a really good run yesterday ...I done double spin then cross training at still trying to get this leg better!!!! I really missed running with the boys, they done a marathon in 4 hours 40mins which is amazing...hope you are both feeling ok today..... Well some good news I managed to run 17.5k today which took 2 hours without any PAIN yeah!!!!!! it felt so good and I'm really happy that I managed it...looks like the injury is recovering ..so onwards and upwards... I want to thank my trainer Matt for giving me great advice and a spot on training plan to get my leg stronger and Paul my chiropractor for clicking me back in to place....I'm not going to now go like a looney and run every day but I think I may be able to do longer runs and couple of times a week but still follow my training plan....HAPPY DAYS xxx

After a few weeks of very slow training due to injury and lack of time because of work and my girls, I finally feel like im back on track. I have had a lot of problems with my shin splints, but fingers crossed i have it under control. I am icing every day and sticking to one long run per week. The cross training is really helping my endurance and all round fitness. I have had a very good training day today, an 18 mile run this morning and then a cross training session with Sam , Malcolm and Tim this afternoon. Training with them has been a real help. We encourage each other to work harder and also have a good giggle. I think today we were all in a mischievious mood and i had a great ab workout from just laughiing!! :-D. Only 3 and a half weeks left of training so i will be pushing myself as far and hard as i can. Watch this space ha ha ha.

Ok so I seem to have semi recovered from my leg problem and have been able to run 2 hours plus with no probs which is great news...NOW I seem to have a knee injury on my other leg which again is stopping me from running...FRUSTRATED or what!!!!!!!...I keep thinking that maybe my body is telling me to slow down a bit,,but the problem is my head won't let me...i'm loving the training and all the guys I train with and we only have 3 weeks to go.....So I'm back on xtraining and leaving the running for a bit....Malcolm, Donna and Tim are doing incredibly well we have all been training all week and spirits are high and non of us can wait for the event to start.............and to finish haha... we hope to see as many people as poss during the event and we are going to need lots of ICE ICE baby!!!!!! training again next week so may see you up there...and on a last point I would like to thank everyone for all their support and sponsorship so far we are doing brilliantly ....THANK YOU xxx

We only have 11 days to go!!!!!! our training has really changed..no more mad long runs and 3hours plus training sessions!!!!....Today me Tim and Donna did some xtraining with a difference..we started off with a 5 min warm up on the bikes then we had to WALK!!!!!on the treadmill for 20mins on an incline!!! we found this really weird and felt like we hadn't done anything...after that we done a lot of core work...which was hilarious as I couldn't completely remember what Matt had said and shown me so was doing the wrong thing a couple of times hehe..sorry guys xx... I have to say I didn't feel as if I had worked out today but I know that we have to reserve our energy for THE WEEK so am dealing with it.. Also we have been eating high protein for about a week which I personally haven't found very interesting as not a huge meat eater, but carried on none the less...we are now on carb and protein and have to try to consume about 3000 calories a day...but we can't make the calories up with cake and chocolate it has to be good carbs and protein...BOOOOO...so basically we will be eating nearly every waking hour..I feel full already thinking about it!!!!!! The next 10 days will be light training and lots of rest..if we can remember how to rest that is haha...My next update will be during the event so I just want to wish Tim Malcolm Donna and everyone running or taking part in other ways all the luck in the world and here's to a fab week of fun laughter and raising loads of money...cheers everyone and thank you all for your support and kind words...also we have put a book in the leisure centre and our Clinic on Ashtons Journey so if you do get a chance please pop in to have a read..this will highlight the reason for our challenge see you all soon love Sam xxx

I feel like saying 'it was the night before Christmas', but its not (shame) its the night before me Tim and Malcolm (hopefully poor thing isn't well) embark on possibly the biggest challenge of our lives!!!! I've got butterfly's in my tummy and I keep doing things to keep me occupied ... Thank you to everyone that has and is involved in this amazing fundraising event and fingers crossed that we reach our £21,000...mind you the next week is going to be the hottest week of the year so far!!!!! typical...... so we have fans at the ready to try and keep us cool.... Donna will be doing her challenge on Wednesday ..she will be starting at 6am with her swim, then straight to the gym to do an incredible 112 mile bike ride then straight on to the treadmill to do a marathon.... this she wants to do within 15 hours but her aim is 12 hours...Donna we wish you all the luck in the world and I am so grateful to you, Tim and Malcolm for taking all your time up to train and get involved in the 777 challenge ... I have the utmost respect for all of you and really value the friendship that we have made .... I also want to say a huge thanks to my sis Tracey, without her this event would not be the way it is today..she has been the key to a lot of what is happening, your a very focused bunny and thank you from the bottom of my heart...also a massive thank you to Angelina and Paul who have also given up their time to push this event forward and Angelina your commitment to your training has been incredible ..you will sail through your marathon and I wish you all the luck...so it just goes for me to say LETS BRING IT ON XXXXXXX

This very big thank you is to Matt who has had the very hard task of getting my fitness up to hopefully complete this challenge. He had given me training programs to build on my cardio and body strength, I have filled in food diaries and Matt has built a nutrition program to enable me to be strong on the inside as well as the outside. I cannot thank you enough Matt for all your support throughout all of this..but I will say that i'm looking forward to the CHOCOLATE ... you really have made a difference and I feel really fit and strong which is a good start for my first day...not sure what mid week will feel like...but because of your commitment to my training and fitness you have given me the confidence to know that I have the ability to do this...you're an absolute star thank you xxx

Well what can I say..the first marathon Malcolm was poorly with a cold but being the super trouper he is he ran his first marathon very quickly..... the first day was amazing the support of everybody was amazing..the atmosphere was electric and the day ended on a high...Then it was my turn to be poorly...sickness and tummy upset is not a great thing to have when you've got to run 26 miles..but we all got through and managed another marathon!!!!!!!! So we are hoping that Tim doesn't come down with anything!!! tomorrow is our 3rd one and as I've just eaten a some veg soup with bread and feel great .... tomorrow should go a little better...will see you all down there .. xxxx
